Phase 1

Phase 1 - Obtain your learner's permit

The first phase consists of theory classes that focuses on the vehicle, the driver, the environment and at-risk behaviours. It provides the foundational knowledge needed to adopt a safe, cooperative and responsible driving behaviour.

Following the completion of these classes, students must complete a theoretical evaluation and obtain a passing grade of 75% or higher to acquire their learner's permit.

Phase 2

Phase 2 - Guided Driving

In Phase 2, learners receive hands-on training behind the wheel under the guidance of our qualified instructors.  This phase also includes theoretical classes on Accompanied Driving and the OEA Strategy (Observe - Evaluate - Act Strategy). Students gain exposures to basic manoeuvres in easy driving environments.

Phase 3

Phase 3 - Semi-Guided Driving

During Phase 3, learners observe experienced drivers in real-world driving situations. This phase includes theoretical classes on Speed,  Alcohol, Drugs and Sharing the Road with vulnerable road users and heavy vehicles . Students learn more complex manoeuvres while driving in a varied driving environment to evaluate at-risk behaviours.

Students may book an appointment for their knowledge test at the SAAQ after the completion of this phase.

Phase 4

Phase 4 - Semi-Guided to Independant driving

In this final phase, learners are encouraged to practice driving independently, applying the skills and knowledge gained throughout the course. This final phase includes theoretical lessons on Fatigue and Distractions, and Eco-Driving, building upon becoming a safe, cooperative and responsible driver.

Upon completion of all the classes, you'll receive an attestation required to take the road test at the SAAQ!

This phase is designed to help learners become more self-reliant and proficient in real-world driving scenarios.
